Note: This ride to Lick Observatory (University of California), atop Mount Hamilton, is considered only one part of "the" ride. The common rest stop is the observatory before heading 20 minutes into the next valley for food at The Junction where you can go straight to Livermore or turn right and head into the central valley to Patterson near Interstate 5.
