Currrent quandry: PHP/MySQL user account bridging…could learn…could pay someone
Posted in What? on July 7th, 2009I have this site, reunionhall.org. It has a forum, phpbb. The developer who rewrote my site and intergrated the forum still has a logged in (into RH) user to log into the forums, too. Of course, you can check the box that always logs you in, but I really wanted one login for many integrations. Since I’m a hack programmer (better than saying I’m an amateur programmer), I only know this one method (so far) of which when the logged-in user lands on the forum login page, a script updates the forum’s user tables so the login (mainly the password) is the same. The user only needs to know one username and password, but the user can still change that password, but the script, the next time, will change it!
Oh, well…just some lingering thoughts.
I am rambling, and it’s time to sleep…I worked a little later this evening.
