Slower Traffic Stay Right (!)
Years ago, maybe on the older high/freeways, these signs (“Slower Traffic Stay Right”) were as evident as the speed limit signs. Although they are not on a few highways, the sign states the rule-of-thumb, slower traffic should stay to the right of the faster traffic.
It’s common to see tailgaters in the fast lane, and that usually means that the vehicle tailgating wants to go faster than the one in front! Move over and let the driver pass, and then you can resume your position and speed until the next vehicle come up on your tail.
When I drive and come up on slower traffic in the fast lane, usually, I can see a convoy of vehicles behind the slow vehicle in the front or lead position, and that person isn’t aware of all the vehicles behind them as the empty lane in front increases.

I agree with ALL you have to say!! People need to learn how to keep to the right! it seems SO logical and Simple! it’s like they think it’s “cool” to be in the left lane or something. I experience this frustration NOT ONLY on the road but as a New Yorker, I have to deal with the same morons on the streets as well! WHY can’t people walk to the right as well???? why do they feel like they can just come at you head on and I am the one who has to move??? woould you drive your car down the street on the wrong side?????? Talk about road rage!
can we get our govt to put up signs that say keep to the right when walking and slower cars keep right??????? USe your rear view mirror! that is what it is there for!!!
here’s one more,,, How about making it against the law to BLOW YOUR HORN UNLESS IT IS AN EMERGENCY!!!! Not becasue the Light just turned red and the person in front of you hasn’t hit 60 yet becasue there is gridlock in front of them!!!
why are people SO stupid?????

Around my area, the newer (last 20 years) freeways don’t have those signs reminding everyone that slower traffic stays to the right. I’m told by a local newspaper writer of traffic issues that there are no plans to add them due to the costs.
I remember the cartoony movies in driver training telling us that if we are slower than the flow of traffic, stay to the right…basic rule that most don’t pay attention to. That’s the way it is.
